Saint Benedict Christian Prayer Beads, Anglican Chaplet
A small rosary is called a chaplet, or sometimes a pocket rosary because the smaller size makes them easy to pop into a pocket or bag when you are on the move.
This is a Christian chaplet of Saint Benedict, approximately one-quarter of the layout of the Anglican rosary. It comes with a prayer card that can be used with the rosary, based on Psalm 34:1-8, Proverbs 2:1-9 and Luke 14:27-33.
The loop of 7 "week" beads are 8mm faceted hematite separated with tiny red and blue glass beads - St Benedict's colors. The loop meets at a St Benedict cross that has his famous medal in the center.
In the front extension are the cruciform and invitatory beads to start the prayer session, and the chaplet begins and ends with a brass St Benedict medal that his his ward (prayer of protection) on one side and his image on the other. The two front beads are twisted hematite ovals.
Length: from center back to end of medal: 27cm / 10.75 inches
Cross: 3.5cm / 1.4 inches
Medal: 2cm / 0.8 inch.
A lovely set of prayer beads for personal use, which would also make a thoughtful gift. It comes attractively wrapped along with the prayer card.
