Saint Augustine Christian Chaplet Prayer Beads, Small Anglican Pocket Rosary
A small pocket rosary, also called chaplet prayer beads, based on the prayers of St Augustine and the layout of the Anglican rosary.
St. Augustine of Hippo is the patron of brewers because of his conversion from a former life of loose living, which included parties, entertainment, and worldly ambitions to a life of Christian faith and principles. His complete turnaround and conversion has been an inspiration to many who struggle with a particular vice or habit they long to break.
I've made this chaplet with natural carnelian gemstone beads, 8mm rounds for the week beads and 10mm rounds for the cruciform and invitatory bead. At one end of the prayer beads is a renaissance style budded cross in nickle & lead free pewter, and at the other is a medal of St Augustine.
A prayer card accompanies the chaplet with St Augustine's own prayers to use as you start to pray with the chaplet.
Length: 24cm (9.5")
Medal" 2.5cm (1")
Cross: 2.5cm (1")
In the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion, he is a saint, a Doctor of the Church, and the patron of the Augustinians. His memorial is celebrated 28 August, the day of his death. He is the patron saint of brewers, printers, theologians, the alleviation of sore eyes, and a number of cities and dioceses.
This chaplet is suitable for men and women, and is well made for regular prayer. It would make a thoughtful gift and comes attractively packaged with the prayer card.
