Christian Pocket Rosary, Paua & Pearl
The Christian or Anglican rosary is designed to be an aid to contemplative prayer, a way of engaging both your mind and your body in the act of praying. This "pocket rosary" is a short form which is perfect for today's busy lifestyle as its small size means it can be easily carried with you in a pocket or purse.
I've made this wee rosary with diamond-shaped paua shell beads in the loop and two gorgeous peacock-blue freshwater coin pearls in the front. The layout of the beads is one "week" of the rosary, about one-quarter of the full rosary size.
A pamphlet about the Anglican rosary is included, along with some suggested prayers to start using the beads to add an extra dimension to your prayer time.
The cross at the beginning of the rosary is a Talavera design in silver pewter. Talavera art is a form of folk art that originated in Mexico and is often used to decorate religious items. The pattern is raised on the front and the same design is engraved into the back.
Length from mid-back to end of cross: 28cm / 11 inches;
Cross: 2.5cm / 1 inch tall;
Beads: 12mm natural paua shell diamonds, 15mm freshwater pearl coins.
